Account Executive

This individual manages new business accounts by reviewing, marketing, quoting, negotiating terms, and answering questions. He or she has a breadth of knowledge with respect to various carrier appetites.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Compares coverage’s & policy language for placement of new business
  • Underwrites new business to determine carrier acceptability & competitive pricing
  • Review submissions & provide decisions on which markets to access for various types of coverage
  • Rates & prepares insurance quotes
  • Prepares complex insurance submissions for brokerage markets
  • Maintains strong product knowledge
  • Develops new & existing agent/client relationships
  • Strengthens existing carrier relationships
  • Contributes to the growth of the organization
  • Hits targeted new business goals
  • Provides superior day-to-day service
  • Upholds departmental service standards
  • Coordinates daily workflow to meet deadlines
  • Produces a significant volume of work efficiently in a specified period of time
  • Can be relied upon regarding task completion & follow-up
  • Performs work with little or no supervision
  • Reviews inspections to determine if coverage’s & limits are sufficient and make recommendations for improvements
  • Responsible for adhering to multiple contracts/ guidelines for our Binding Authority markets

Qualifications:

  • BA or BS Degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as CSR, Technical Assistant, or Assistant Underwriter
  • Driven to immediately deliver results & contribute to departmental objectives
  • Professional negotiation, interpersonal, written, & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize & multi-task with a sense of urgency
  • Cooperate, work, & communicate well with co-workers, supervisors, & outside contacts as part of a Team environment
  • Familiarity with extensive insurance terminology
  • Familiarity with coverage parts of ISO forms
  • Capable of marketing, quoting, & binding of risks
  • Working knowledge of various carrier rating systems
  • Strong Organizational & Time Management Skills
  • Energetic & Positive Attitude
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Pays attention to detail
  • Ability to produce quality work that is accurate, thorough, & neat
  • Demonstrate proper judgement & decision-making skills

Renewal Underwriter

This individual processes and re-markets renewal quotes, while adhering to an advanced timeline. He or she makes sure each renewal is accurate and meets the clients’ needs.
